Our firm provides comprehensive services and expert witness testimony in criminal, civil, and traffic/municipal courts. We assist defendants, plaintiffs, lawyers, and prosecutors in both state and federal courts. Our expert opinions are based on scientifically supported evidence, rather than mere speculation. Our services are available nationwide in the United States, as well as in Canada.

Role and Responsibility of the Expert Witness - Engineer

An engineer expert witness (EEW) is an individual who has extensive knowledge and expertise in the field of engineering. Their role is to assist the judicial system, including judges, juries, and lawyers, in understanding the technical aspects of a case. This may include explaining the application of scientific principles to specific situations, particularly in relation to laws and regulations. The EEW may provide testimony on a wide range of topics such as traffic accident reconstruction, speed measuring devices, vehicle equipment, and traffic control devices. It is important to note that all our conclusions are derived from evidence-based data and not from unreliable or unscientific sources.

By Definition

Vehicular Manslaughter is defined as causing the unlawful death of another human being using a vehicle. It can be a felony or misdemeanor.

Police Investigation Methods - Vehicular Manslaughter

In some states law enforcement are using the downloaded data from the vehicle’s black box / event data recorder (EDR). As a matter of fact some department’s are uses the EDR as a stand alone accident investigator tool, which is somewhat questionable. Once the vehicle is impounded (in police custody) the auto black box data is downloaded which may require a warrant or not (warrant-less issue). This is determined by a state by state and/or as well as a Fyre (standard) or Daubert (standard) hearing.  Other police departments use different methods to determine the proximate of the accident.

Vehicular Manslaughter Expert Witness

The Offices Of PERRY J. ZUCKER, Degreed Engineers,  specialize in evaluating cases of vehicular manslaughter. We assess the accuracy of traffic accident reconstruction, including the data recorded by auto black boxes and event data recorders (EDRs). Our expertise extends to evaluating the reliability of speed measuring devices such as radar, Robic/gap time/Vascar, laser/lidar, and traffic control devices like signals, lights, and signs. We offer nationwide services as expert witnesses in these matters. If you have a case that requires evaluation, we recommend reaching out to  an experienced traffic accident reconstruction engineer.
