Role and Responsibility of the Expert Witness - Engineer

An engineer expert witness (EEW) is someone who specializes in engineering,  that assist the judicial system  (judges and/or juries and/or lawyers) to  understand the technical aspects of their case. They may be asked to explain how science applies to certain situations, in cases of laws and/or regulations. The EEW, may testify from a gamut of topics from speed measuring devices, traffic accidents as well as research and development.   All of our conclusions are from evidence based data, NOT speculations.

A motion to suppress entails a request made to the presiding judge to exclude certain pieces of evidence, with the aim of achieving a conviction. Suppressing said evidence may result in insufficient merit for the case to proceed to trial or secure a conviction. For instance, in a speeding case, if the speed measuring device was not deemed accurate or properly utilized, or if there were issues with traffic control devices such as signals, signs, or markings.
